When I abruptly shut it down it doesn't create a backup as it did initially. I am concerned it is corrupting the program or the slideshow(s) as this freezing is happening more frequently. With the last two I have started having issues with the application freezing while working with the slideshow (adding or moving pictures or making modifications to the slide such as runtime or titles) and I have to use Windows Task Manager to end the program. I have created several Photostory slideshows.
